Day 29 – Sea Day on Coral Sea

brourke1069

Its our second last sea day (last will be going down the coast from Brisbane to Sydney). Tomorrow (Tuesday) we’ll be in Brisbane and clear Australian immigration. Things are starting to wrap up for the cruise. Today we get our passports back.

Watching the weather back home and given the winter weather they are getting, we’ve been happy with our weather. We are now at 25 degrees S, so the temps are moderating nicely to temps in the high 70’s and lower humidity.

Crossed paths with a ship last night around 8:30pm. It was the Pacific Dawn on its way from Brisbane to Noumea. It is the only ship we have seen on a sea day this trip. We may see more as we get closer to Australia.

Seeing some Masked Boobies flying near the ship even though we are still 240 miles from shore

Christmas has come to Regatta

6 PM and sun is starting to set.  Having a glass of wine on the balcony.  We are about 125 miles off the Australian  coast and will pick up the pilot around 4 AM for the trip up river to Brisbane.

Big sun setting into the sea

The weather has been good from LA.  Winds started from the NE and moved around to SE as we approached the equator.  We had a couple of days with larger seas on the stern, but overall its been an uneventful trip with waves on the beam or stern the whole trip.  Rolling has been minimal with the stabilizers.
