Arrived this morning. Very hot and humid. Pago Pago harbour is a sunken caldera and very deep. Tourism is limited. Used to be a port to store coal for coal fired ships.
Some little facts. Samoa is just 30 miles west of American Samoa, but is a day ahead (sometimes a day plus an hour). On Dec 29th, 2011, Samoa decided to be on the same side of the dateline as Australia and New Zealand to make trade and business easier. Samoa is one of the first countries on earth to see the new day, given their position on the dateline (they used to be the last before they moved the dateline). Samoa also has daylight savings time so their clocks are one hour ahead of American Samoa during the southern hemisphere summer.

Lanee said not to take any more pictures of the ship, but the Captain would not move it out of the way so I could get a picture of the harbour.
